Best Time to do the Dragon?
What is the best time of the year to do the Deal Gap Dragon run and Smoky Mountain cruise? Spring, summer, or wait for the color change? A group of us from the New Orleans area want to plan something? Thanks!

My opinion is late spring or early fall. That's for the the warm but not hot weather. The weekends are usually filled with bikers. A TWR (tues/weds/thurs) day is the best for just making runs for the thrill of just driving your car. Check with http://www.tailofthedragon.com for current conditions before you go. The winter is often bad weather, due to the elevation. Today appears to have been an exception.
