Hey Southeast section.
SMC and the Group from GA went on an adventure to tame the dragon today.
The weather was a bit chilly this morning but did not slow down this group.
With the GA group barreling in toward the North Carolina side of the Dragon, Hot rod harry, tbwstingray, and Etvette smoking up the Foothills pkwy, and the rest of smc straightening out 129... WE all converged on the dragon.

Smc met at the gravel pit and decided to head for the border and meet the Ga crew. We had Volvette on his first event and glad to welcome him and his son. Bomag, Cball, and Hot and Red jr the first timers of the group were pumped to twist the dragon's tail.

Hot rod Harry and Tbwstingray led the way. They blazed a trail that only a few of us could dream of doing. Personally, Hot rod had better watch out for Tbw...

Anyway, the rest of us broke into small groups and made our way to North Carolina. At the Deal's gap motorcycle store, we met the group from georgia...
jet jockey and his crew were all girins. They were ready to tame the dragon.

With some friendly greetings and hand shakes....we were off and headed back to Tenn....

An unfortunate "squirrel , rabbit, deer, bear or rock" jumped up and got in the way of one of the GA group..... WE all pitchec in to get him back to the bottom of the hill ...

Pics! Where's the pics? :confused: Sounds like a good time was had. So, there were two cars with trouble? Did the jaja car get home safe? :cheers:
I hope when the weather's warmer, and I'm not at work, this group will still be doing events!

Sadly, not every Corvette made it through the day without a scratch. One of them had some damage to it.

The run was absolutely fantastic!!! For a first timer's point of view, all I can say is "WOW"!!!!! I think Hot and Red phrased it best: "First you are lulled by long, sweeping curves on a great road, and then it turns into an animal!" Awesome raod!!
Special thanks to Hot and Red for letting me tag along early that morning!!!

I bet the tunes were blaring from the Rhine when you tackled the dragon.
I had a kick driving that awesome CE car....Felt like I slipped into the cockpit of a F16........
Glad you had fun.

What a day!! I did not know what to expect as we ate breakfast and discussed the Dragon. I had a great time meeting everyone and testing the limits of my car and ability. Look forward to seeing everyone in Bristol.

Jim, the only thing blaring in my car was my frickin heartbeat!!!!! :eek:
And the only thing I really did get to see was PrettyTNLady butt (on her C5...she was infront of me......)There was a nice steak at awaiting the new dragon slayer when he got home........!!! Too bad I had to cook it myself!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
The Ga folks were really cool people and I truly enjoyed meeting them!!!

Yeah Volvette,
I was in your shoes less than 6 months ago when Tennlee posted a dragon run....Never been there or heard of it. Lunch was a rough time for me not knowing what to expect.
Like you, I was hooked after seeing and being on the dragon once....

Had a great time! It was good to meet everyone for the first time. I can't wait to do it again soon. :cool:

The Exception

Hey CBall you could have passed me on the curve of your choice. I was working on technique, so watch out when I put the speed with it.
Sure enjoyed it guys and glad you let me run with (or behind) you. I think I will just live "with" the dragon instead of slay it. Makes for a fun run and can't wait to go again.

Glad I took the vette home blew the front seal out trying to hang in there with
Hotrod Harry :lol: vettes in trany shop now having all new goodies installed
plus they will drill the seal drain hole out so the seal will not blow out
next time, And next time i'll try and pass Harry :lolg:
