Anyone have recommendations for a station that carry’s e85 in Raleigh/Cary/Apex area? I’m looking for stations that have e85 that people have experience at that has pretty consistent quality and consistent content.
E85 is going to be new for me so I’m just trying to do a little research on stations that folks use around here.
Can't give you specific info, but my experience with E85 anywhere is that it is never 85. More like 65/70.
I'm not sure why the standard is so weak. Also, I've not been actively interested in E85 for a couple of years now so it could be different now. Good luck with however you're using it or trying to use it.

Thanks. Putting Flex fuel system on the car and having it dyno tuned for pump 93 and full e85. Using DSX flex fuel system. I think I’m going to get one of those cheap test kits on Amazon so I can check the ethanol content. I’m also having a p3 gauge put in so I can see the numbers. The car will be tuned to run on any mixture up to true E85. In fact they will put in 10 gallons of e85 on an almost empty tank in two gallon increments tuning between each time as the % will change each time up to where it’s almost all true e85. They charge 14 per gallon for true e85.
Yes, if you are installing a flex fuel system and tuning it you should be OK as a flex fuel system sensor will determine the mix thus adjusting the Stoichiometrics for proper fueling. Without knowing what vehicle, are you doing anything to the fuel pump(s) and fuel regulators?
Between the two fuels:
Gasoline stoich @ 14.7:1
Pure ethanol stoich @ 9:1
means that it takes more fuel volume to have a complete fuel efficiency as you go on a scale from pure gasoline to pure ethanol. Most factory fuel systems won't handle the pumping requirements as you get close to E85.
You have to have a flexible timing table as well as the octane rating of pure ethanol is about 114; E85 is about 100' but here again, depending how accurate the E85 is. And gasoline, of course, is 93

thanks for the info. Yes I’m putting a DSX flex fuel system in, a new MSD intake, MSD fuel rail system, AFE CAI, ARH 1 7/8 catted x pipe, doing dyno tuning for both 93 pump and e85.
So I’m trying to find recommendations for gas stations that have e85 that has some pretty consistent ethanol levels. It will be tuned to be able to run all e85, all 93, and anywhere in between.
I usually get e85 from the sheetz on ten ten road or chapel hill rd in Cary. Granted it’s for my turbocharged s2000 on flex fuel but it’s worked for me with no issues.
I want to say it’s usually above e70
