Hello everyone, thought ide pitch a short annoucement and request..i have been asked to participate as the Georgia Events Coordinator for the corvette forum. this is a title that i guess most people thought i already had, and i thank all of you who feel that the with the little get togethers that ive been starting up i was already performing that duty. i never thought of it like that, due to the fact, the events have been successful, were successful because of all of you that participated. Ive already started planning some future events before being asked to perform this request, and hopefully these events will turn out as successful!....so with all that, thank you, and i hope to get to meet everyone, as well as sharing some ideas i have for bringing new people into the group.

2nd...the request...

since im centrally located in GA i want make this a equally divided event participation group. many times ive told people about the events we are having, and one of the things ive always been asked is....whats the clubs name??...and u know..we never really had a club, it was the individual making an effort to come to whatever gathering/trip we had.....but i would like to get us a name..no membership, no club, just a small title to let everone know that we are part of some of the best corvette owners around..and anyone who comes to the meetings/events, and says they want to be know as part of our group, so be it....after all, what we paid for the cars, shouldnt something be free...:)..the oddest thing was the christmas dinner, we collected SEVERAL toys for a childrens home...when the home asked for our club name..was strange telling them..."we really dont have one"...they found it so unbelieable that we pulled something off so good without being a actual club...so, with all that, im asking..please post a name here, or email a name suggestion, and we can start being know as a actual group....and remember....this is for ALL of ga, not just atl....and yes those of u from other states taht always come to the events (ourruby, savewave, sully, tuband, etc)..u are welcome also.... :cheers: ..so lets have it..suggestions??

It was hard to come up with a group name for us. Then I watched Adam Boca try to come up with one for the Nashville area.

But, when we DID come up with a name, things started coming more together. Just like you said TV, you can promote better and get name recognition for your area and the events you are doing. I always took note of the Misfits, Rat Pack, Race City Gang and others....Seeing the posts in this section from all the other groups is encouraging.

I commend you for what you are doing. We are only a couple steps ahead of you. We came up with our name, Smoky Mountain Cruisers, then a logo, then recruiting cards, then a banner...plan on static stickers and other items that help promote our passion.

We have also been working on getting an East Tennessee Event Coordinator. ETVETTE has been our leader in this regard and we nominated him. We hope he meets the criteria they have so we can continue to reach out and grow.

We look forward to the cruise on March 8 to meet many other corvette enthusiasts, and club and forum members. We can share ideas and trade notes about what we can do to continue to promote the southeast section. :thumbs:
