"From high atop the mountain, the views were awesome, the colors spectacular...and when the Rangers told us we could drive as fast as we wanted....that was icing on the cake!
Smile everyone
It was a great day!"

Awesome shots Gary. The view of the meadow at the visitor center just topped off the day. I couldn't believe the beautiful Yellows, and the pritine Red's and the Violets. Just to die for. Jack you really out did yourself with the sunny weather this year. :lolg: Great time even if Mother Nature wouldn't lift the clouds a little higher. That was a little sureal up there. There were times you couldn't see the yellow lines to drive and I lost Jack who wasn't more than 40 or 50 feet in front of me. Strange weather this year but great Corvette friendships!!
Who's burnout was that? The one that caused the fog???

Gary thanks for taking the pictures to show us what we missed. Unfortunately I was at work all day and couldn't make this one. Yeah Leo even in the civilian world things don't get much better. :jester

Gary,
I really enjoyed the cruise in spite of net being able to see 50 feet ahead. I especially enjoyed running with the Ratpack up and down 211. And made some new friends.
For the fall it will probably be the first Skyline cruise in a hurricane. That might make me turn back, a little bit of fog is no big deal to a Vette. If you can't stop short of the deer you can run under them.

fog? FOG? That my friends was a cloud! Fortunatly everyone had thier deer radar turned on and no one had to drive a busted car home. At least we got to fit in a quick run up 211 and the obligatory full throttle through the tunnel. I'll see everyone at the fall drive during the plague of locusts as well. Hopefully next time I'll be able to take the top off and use my  All in all 20 Corvettes and one Subaru was not a bad turnout. :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto: :auto:
