Found a 1990 Vette, 350CI, Posi rear end, Bose Sound system, Power everything, Dark Metallic Red/Black. 16K miles. Price 17,900. Looks like it just drove off show room floor. Input please, right price? wrong price? Bad year? Or is it a steal? Soon to be 14 years old with only 16k.
I had a couple friends, one selling a 94 and one a 96 with ~45K miles for $14-$16k, and these were "show quality" kept.
Dr Evil may know about about details on that particular year, and may have additional questions for you about it (like what engine, suspension package).
Personally, it's a little high for me, but what do I know, we just bought a '68!
Re: [SMC] Need some input about this. (98Pace97Coupe)

Yesterday I looked at a 93 at West in Alcoa. Did not check the milage but the salesman told me it had about 30k. The car is white with red interior looks like new. Needs tires. Also has the tinted roof panel and standard panel. West had just sold the car to a dealer in Alabama and thought it could be bought for about $17,500 or $18,000. I never talked to the dealer that has the car now but I do have a card for the West Salesman if you are interested.
Nice low miles cars will always bring more than the average miles/condition ones. This still seems a little high for a 90. To answer some of your other questions, I know nothing bad about 90 models versus any other years. I will say you could move up to a 92 or later with the added LT1 performance and still not spend as much money. If you like it and it's really nice I would offer $12,500. The average car would be worth about $8,500. I know of a nice 93 you can buy for about $11,500 or $12,000. ;)

thanks Wayne.
Hopefully Roband, if they car you are looking at is not the one, Wayne can help you find one.....
Every car is a bit different and has to be jusged on its own merits. That being said, $17k seems a bit high for a 90. Some info on the 90 is it has 2 poblems that are unique to the 1990s only. First is the tachometer. For whatever reason [no one has figured it out yet] the tachometers sometimes read as much as 3k rpm too high. This means you think your car is turning 5000rpm but in reality it's only poking around at maybe 3000 or 3500. I shifted mine at 6200rpm when I first got it and didnt realize mine was off that bad. I just never thought about it till I dynoed the car. I let off at what I thought was 5500 and the operator was like, why'd you stop..it was just getting good. The other problem is the infl rest light. The 90 was the 1st year for the airbag and the sensors can lose thier ground to the frame. Theres an article in the c4 tech tips section that explains the reset and fix proceedure. Dealers charge alot to do this but you can do it yourself for under $5.00 and a coupe hours time. [dont nobody tell my boss I told you that ;) ]
That mileage is low for a 90 and no doubt its in good shape but I'd have my reservations about a really low mileage car. They act better if you drive them and break less. Its hard on the electrical systems on any car if it just sits. My 90 had 50k miles on it when I got it and hadnt been driven much for the 3 years prior to the owner trading it in. Within 6 months I replaced the alternator, wiper motor, both headlight motors, reset the infl rest light, and a few other small elctrical gremlins. I drove it every day I could thereafter and it never gave me trouble, ever. Another thing to consider is with an engine setting for long periods of time the oil turns acidic and can actually eat bearings up. Get one thats been driven some, but maintained well. We picked up my Moms 92 6 speed vert for about $11k. Heck, I only paid $16500 for my 96 LT4 car last December with 54k miles on it. Sorry to be so long. This concludes our history lesson for the day.
