Nitro-C5 - Medical Update....

First thing, I read the post I was sending last night this morning and aahhhhhh, emmmmm I think I was a little stoned! I really couldn't sleep so I made myself a stiff Vodka Tonic to take with the Vicodan and well lets just say I don't recommend this for anyone :nonod: I was in pain, but really couldn't feel anything until I moved. Feeling abit better this AM but now the swelling and bruising has just started to set in...see pic below.
Many of you have asked what happen, so I'll give you the short version of the story. Keep in mind that I have been on a serious workout routine for the past 20 years and have been compeating in various events for the past 12 years, so getting injured is not a new phenomenon for me. I've broke and injured just about everything on my body numerous times over the years, however I've been lucky to never tear a major muscle group completely until last night. Last night was just another night like many before, I warmed up, stretched out then and then proceeded to work chest as my first body part. Started with Bench Press and was feeling GREAT. First warmup I actually got 225lbs. for 40 reps in a warm-up set...so I was feeling good. Moved then to 315lbs, the to 365, then to 405lbs. Each set felt light and nothing out of the ordinary. Goal was to do a few reps with 405lb. then move up to my workout weight of 475lbs. The 405lb. felt light, so like a moron I decided to do an extra rep...(Always famous last words), weight came down smooth and in control then all of a sudden I could feel it in my left chest. The only way I can describe this is if you had someone hold your arms behind your back and then take a scalpel to filet the muscle off the bone. I could feel it tear slowly all the way down. Damn lucky I had a spotter or honestly I might not be here right now. The weight came down, landed on my chest tand then rolled onto my collar bone.
Anyway to make a long story short it dosen't appear that the tendon has come unattaced from the scapula so there might not need to be surgery, however down side is that there is no way to mend muscle other then time. It looks like I might have done some damage to the front delt (shoulder) muscle as well. All in all I will be fine will just need some recovery time.
I honestly VERY much appreciate all the nice emails and posts that I have received! This is even more the reason why I would like to come out and spend time with all my new friends on the Corvette Forum!!! :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
