Savannah, GA
Wife and I are going to stop in Savannah after the S&S II tour and a stay in NY. We have reservations for the riverboat dinner cruise that we couldn't use last year do to my having surgery. Anyone have recommendations for reasonable places in the Historic District to stay for a couple nights? We checked on line and most places are $200+ per night. Hotwire.com said they could get us a 4 star hotel for $109 per night. Does this sound like the best price available? TIA. Perry :seeya
I love Savannah. I went to school in Statesboro. Me and the wife got engaged in teh historic district in d'town Savannah. Anyway, a real good place to stay is the East Bay Inn. Fairly reasonable we stayed I think it was around $130. You can just park and walk to everything downtown. 1 block from River Street. Here is a link to their site. They have a deal in Aug for $109 a night. http://www.eastbayinn.com/
Also might want to try the Mulberry Inn. It is also pretty nice. Just do not go coporate like the Hilton or Days Inn. The inns in Savannah are the best and most cozy to stay in. Enjoy you stay.

Try the Hampton Inn on Bay Street. Its newer and convenient to River Street and the historic district . The phone number is 912-231-9700. Also try their website at http://www.hotelsavannah.com . Good luck!! Scott
