I received the following email from Ed Custer...
Rick, Ed Custer here with the Corvette Club of Richmond. At our monthly meeting on 3/12 we had 21 cars sign up for the Waterside event. Weather permitting, I am sure we will have at least 23 cars show up. Please keep me updated.

So will richmond have the largest showing here at Waterside ??
I haven't heard from the Beachcombers or other Corvette groups...mostly individuals...

 Rick
As I mentioned to you before, I think we are going to have problems with parking i=unless we can get more space. Parking garages are not a real great alternative! I realize they want us to stay on paved areas, can we get more space on the "walkways"?
JACK, that's what I did last year..
I will do that again this year once the lot fills up...We had cars lined up on both sides of the sidewalk...
I do not plan to turn away any CORVETTE that shows up..
I will see what options I might have with the City of Norfolk...
This should be a great turn out..
However I have not heard any numbers other that from the Richmond Corvette club..as to how many are expected..
Stay safe
Rick
I sent out an e-mail to the Beachcombers this morning asking for a "Vette Count". I can have some folks there early to help with parking too. Just tell me how many you want/need and when you want them there.
I expect 20+ Beachcombers to be there but will give you a count when I get one.
Thanks again for putting this GREAT event together again. This thing could grow like crazy if the City of Norfolk got behind it. It would be great if someone from the City were aware of it and could see this year's turnout.
Tony, Thanks a lot..
I totally agree, but 2 years ago I could NOT get the City to even aggree to let us come there.
It was Waterside that helped us..I am reluctant to go to Norfolk right now and ask for support, in case they turn us down "again" then we are up the creek....
I think if we do exactly as we did last year with parking we will be fine...
I think we can then go to Norfolk for NEXT years event..
There is also a management change takng place at Waterside this week, but we are all set...Maggie Levine is leaving..to go in business with her husband in Matthews Va..
I plan to go to Waterside tomorrow and say hello etc....to everyone there and pick up Passes..
I will post more after I visit them tomorrow.
stay safe

Waterside UPdate..
I went to Waterside today..Met with Capt. Saunders of Waterside Security..He has been with us every year..I picked up the PARKING PASSES..
Capt. Saunders loves the Corvettes..I showed him a CD of our pictures from the last TWO years.I explained our parking situation and showed him how we parked last year..He doesn't see any problems. He loved the Pictures.... I gave him the Cd I was going to give JD at Hooters.. Capt. Saunders said he will be off on the 27th, but will come down just to see the cars...I told him he was my guest for lunch..
He is a very nice man..There is new management at Waterside.. I will meet them later.. I think with Waterside's help in the future we could park out cars all along the Waterfront down by the Boats as well as where we are now...
I will work on that for NEXT year..
JD at Hooters was glad to see me.. and is excited that we are coming.. She will schedule two extra girls just for us out side...under the Canopy..
They are going to open 4 more more HOOTERS in Va. soon.. One will be in Williamsburg..Another opportunity for the RatPack to attend Grand opening ceremonies might exist..for these places ??????
I looked at the driver entry options for Waterside .. I think the best thing for us is to enter the same as last year..and drive along the side walk..
I will post the instructions in a later email since this is too long anyway..
DON'T WORRY JACK.. we will get them parked !!!
In fact Capt. Saunders saw your convertible in the pictures and liked it a lot !!I told him you were the co-ordinator of our events and I was sure he could take it for a drive if he wanted..
