I made a run over there last Saturday. Did you know you can get a speeding ticket from making noise in the tunnel? If you have the bad luck to do it when a cop is about to enter the tunnel from the other side you can. 35 mile limit through the tunnel, radar enforced.
I too made a run down the Skyline Drive on Saturday and got stopped for doing 50. Speed limit on the Skyline Drive is 35 NOT 45 like on the Blue Ridge Parkway (so I was informed). Glad thay didn't stop me when I was doing 60 up one of the hills. Anyway we need to be careful on the 30th......I'll be doing 30! PS: Just got a warning, musta been the gray hair. C5 XTC
There's too many C-4 and C-5's that show up and not allot of REAL Vettes....
Yeah, tha'ts kinda what I was thinkin'. At the spring Skyline cruise there were very few C3s and older. Although the ones there were pretty sweet. There must have been 50+ C5s. I won't be able to make up my mind until the morning of the 30th. It's such a tough life.

I was there on Saturday too... and I kept asking, "Where's the park ranger?" I saw him once at Skyland but never on the road and I occasionally found myself exceeding the 35 MPH limit. But I think it was only between mile markers 1 and 42.
Maybe the ranger was looking for the caravan of Z cars that were up there. . .
A couple of questions if you don't mind. First, Got room from a NC resident, sounds like it may be fun.
Second, where does it start, (town?), how far, and where do you end up?

Okay, more than a couple of questions...lol.
Thanks,

Yes we have room for a Carolinian
It starts up in Front Royal Va, which is near the intersection of I 81 and I 66
Where are you coming from?
You can also take I 95 north to Fredericksburg and then follow route 17
Starts at 9:30 am and ends up down at intersection of Route 33 and the Skyline
E mail me at buydavette@aol.com and I can converse with you in more detail

any eligible bachelors (in the vicinity of 55-65 years old) have an open shotgun seat for my lovely and single mother? she has a cabin up there near luray and i'll be staying there fri night... and she says "a 'vette ride down the parkway sounds like a great way to spend a sat".
Thanks everyone, I'm trying to squeeze this into my schedule since this will be the very first "group" gathering I've been to since I bought my first vette almost 2 years ago...
I would like to attend but it would be much more enjoyable with a female companion. If any of you know a girl who would like attend but doesn't have a ride, let me know. BTW, I prefer petite girls. Hook a cracker up
