IF I get to town early, I might make a leisurely Dragon run. Do I just head south down Alcoa Hwy and keep following the 129 signs?

A group from High Performance Toys are doing a Sunday afternoon Dragon run including the Cherahola Skyway if interested in doing it on the back end of your trip.

You go down I-140 to Alcoa (Hwy129, exit 11) and take exit to right toward airport.

Just about a mile past the airport is the "split"...

The left split heads to Maryville then to the Foothills Pkwy (15 miles or so). Turn right on Foothills Pkwy and it goes for about 10 miles and dead ends into Hwy 129. Turn left on Hwy 129 and Dragon starts in about 3 miles.

The right split takes you on Hwy 129 toward Hooter's and into Alcoa. After going thru most of the town, you need to look for a red light with a gas station on the left because Hwy 129 takes off to the left. You will go about 10-15 miles before getting to the Dragon.
