Anybody going to this autocross? I have been trying to get to one for months. Missed out on a couple from a broken wrist and a couple more from work conflicts. I have my race tires mounted and sitting in the garage just staring at me every time I walk through the garage.
Right now I'm scheduled to work that weekend. But we've really been getting slow, so maybe I won't have to. If I'm not working, I'll definitely be there.
I am off from my EMS job and even went as far as to have my name removed from the call list for the day from my Emergency Management/ Homeland Security job. Now if I can just keep from injuring myself.......
I want to, really...I want to get better at maneuvering the car, as opposed to steering in a straight line.
Many excuses not to go this time though. I have no helmet yet, I don't want to use a loaner (yuck, cooties! ) and I am about to spend my helmet money to pay a medical deductible (decided to get my dislocated hip fixed finally).
I'll let you know how it went. Sorry you guys can't make it. I will most likely be a bit conservative as it has been over 15 years since I have done one, (I used to be pretty good). I just want to get a feel for the car and course.
I just was in the garage attemting to mount my race tires and found that the idiots that rotated my tires last time cross threaded more than one of my lug nuts. I snapped two studs already, (on different wheels) and will not attempt to remove the wheels. If I break another one, I will have to tow it to their shop. Oh well, I guess I will not be able to even get to an autocross this year, much less compete.
