Default Coronado Vintage Auto Races Oct 8 & 9

The San Diego Fleet Week Foundation and General Racing Ltd. have joined forces to return vintage racing to the base runways and taxiways of Naval Air Station North Island in beautiful Coronado, CA.

The Vintage Auto Races will be held on Coronado Island (San Diego CA) October 8 & 9, 8:00 a.m.-4 p.m. These vintage race cars are chosen to compete on the basis of their historical significance and certified authenticity. The Speed Festival is hosted by the Navy Region Southwest and the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program. MWR retains revenue generated by tickets sold to the Military and a percentage of the overall revenue generated by the event.

I have a limited number of Car Corral Passes for the Corvette Corral. There is NO COST for the Corvette Corral. In order to receive a Corvette Corral Pass you must mail a Self Addressed Stamped legal size envelope to me. First come, first served. If you want a Corvette Corral Pass, then send me your Stamped Envelope NOW!!!!!!

Janet, I sent you a self addressed stamped envelope last week some time with a letter inquiring about tickets or passes to get on base for Fridays qualifing & Inspection, I do not mind paying if that is a concearn.

I have been going to the North Island races from the beginning and before 9-11 it was no problem gettin on base on Friday, last year I even drove my Covette on Friday and they still said I needed a Purple Pass to get on base for Friday.

Would you have any info on how to aquire Friday passes, please e-mail me if you do @ rhoney@classicelectricofsandiego.com

On Fridays it's not so crowded and I want to take my grandson on a tour of the pit so I can explain and show him the differences in these old race cars

Thanks much

Roger, I rec'd your letter. Try phoning the information number 1.619.8581545 and see if they can help you. Otherwise you will have to go direct to General Racing Ltd and try to get a pass.

I will be mailing the Corral Passes as soon as they come in (probably a week or two).

Everyone, remember to order your tix. The Corral Passes are free, but you have to purchase tix to get into the races.

All Corral Passes were mailed yesterday. Everyone should have them by the end of the week. I still have more passes available, so if anyone wants a Corral Pass, send me your SASE now.

I don't know any more than you do. Usually the oldest cars run first, with the Trans Am cars running last.
