Willow Springs and Buttonwillow are the closest venues and they aren't that far away. Okay,Buttonwillow is probably an overnighter-type thing....
These would involve a signed/paid committment. The nice thing about the usual SCMR events is that if you make it you make it, if you don't you don't.
What do you regulars AND you noobs think of doing one of these track days as a SCMR group??
Personally, I probably will pass ($$), but I'd be glad to get it going...
Sundays are better for me these days because of basketball and T-ball will be starting soon.
I'm thinking about maybe hosting a mod day & BBQ in the next few weeks?
My car is back on the road with a new valve train, oil pump, and alignment .

Glad to hear your car is back on the road. A mod day and BBQ would be cool......how about a NOS install on a GTO?
I've got little league starting up soon too.....so my time also will be tough to come by soon.....

Jim, a mod day would be cool. I need to learn how to install my D&S rotors and new pads, and I know how to wrench to help someone else too. We can pass the hat to help with the food.
Hey Larry, I was talking with a guy who does the autocross thing at the stadium with a C5, and he was telling me that all of us local CF and SCMR guys can run the auto cross for $35.00 bucks a day. It might be fun to do one of these to see what its like with our bunch. He was also telling me that the Corvette club (is this the beach chair group) puts and autocross on at least once a year.
Who cares what class they would put us in, at least we can go ***** to the wall without looking over your shoulder and if we break we will be close to home. What do you guys think?

Hey, I think the autocross would be GREAT for us SCMR-types!!
I'll be out of town on the 29th, but how about the following auto-x at the stadium?? That would be Sunday, Feb 19th.
I wonder about one thing, though:
I've run two of these events over the last two years, and they have a limit on the number of cars that can sign up. Once, I got there after that limit had been reached and was told "Sorry, come back next time... earlier." (Someone talked to someone else, and they eventually let me sign up/run) John, can you see if something can be done to ensure that all of us get to sign up and run??
Even if it means getting there at 7am, I think this would be a great SCMR event. We'll each only get about 6 minutes of actual driving time, but it will be a nice change of pace.
What do you guys think of RoHO's idea? I, for one, like it!

If you guys are interested in comming up to the Thousand Oaks area I'll coordinate the route (it's the one that you all liked the best). Let's just make it before the weather changes. It was great up there today!
