Anyone with this experience interested in lending a hand installing a Hurst Short shifter. It has been sitting here for a few months now and I would really like to get that puppy in.

Reason: UPDATE
Well as some of you may recall I posted this thread a little bit ago. I had no takers on the assistance so I let it go for a bit longer. Anyway since I was having the failed brake booster done I figured I would throw in that job as well as a few more "to do" items. But before I had the shifter installed I had it cut down 2 more inches and then welded back into place. Well after the install the shifter feels awesome. Measured from the top center of the shifter the throw between first and second is 4.5 inches. Feels very tight and stable. Now I even love shifting more then I did before. Other items included in the maintenence are:
Oil Change
Brake Booster ( some will remember a previous thread on that ).
Front Rotors and brakes
Spark Plugs & Wires
Short Shifter Install
Brake fluid change with Motul
Now during the shifter change the guys noticed there was a clean thru break in the shifter housing. They removed the housing ( no easy job ) and had it welded up the same day for me. OC Corvettes in Irvine, Ca. is top notch in my book. They stayed until after 10pm to get my car done because I needed it and the guys pulled all the stops. They were not cheap by any means but like everything "If you get good you don't mind payin". Anyway I thru in a couple of pics for you future planners.
