Benny, Rich, Teddy, Vinny, Jermaine, Tito etc. Just so you know what your dealing with, I took these pictures about an hour or so ago from my house 2 miles from the ocean. I don't know how anyone could breath in this
Got an update for you..they just announced mandatory evacuations on Willow Road....so that means the fire may be heading down Wildcat canyon right now...
Winds have really increased in our area..we are just off Old Hwy 80 near Flinn Springs...I'm betting we will have to evacuate this evening as they have requested voluntary evacuations in Blosom Valley just east of us..
Hang in there soldier and thanks for keeping us up to date. Del Mar, parts of Solano beach, and San Elijo Hills are evacuating now and tomorrow hasn't even arrived yet
Thats a relief, I was worried since I saw it on the news when I was teaching.
Thanks again
I'm verifying these reports before posting...
Mandatory evacuations occuring on Willow Road, Lakeside...this means the fire is moving down Wildcat Canyon Road from Barona.....
I'll keep you up to date as long as I can..we may have to leave in about four hours..this is my guess at this point...we are off Old Hwy 80 near Flinn Springs....
Rich

Remember what I said about the Harris fire...tonight or tomorrow that SOB is going to show it's ugly head....also,they are now (fire authorities) watching the fire at "EL Capitan" lake ...because that could head down into Harbison Canyon...and if that happens....all hell is going to break loose....(poor people down there are still rebuilding from the Cedar fire)...
Rich..

My daughter lost her home on Magnolia Road in Ramona, burnt to the ground last night! The development where she lived is mostly gone! My son and his family, also in Ramona, were evacuated yesterday, no word yet on their home. I have many life long friends in Ramona, Poway, Alpine and surrounding areas having lived there for 50+ years... This is unbelievable, 250,000 evacuated, no air services due to high winds which are expected to last til wed or thur. Our thoughts are with all of you affected by this disaster. Please be careful, houses and posessions can be replaced.
RamonaC5...are you in Holly Oaks off Dye Rd in Ramona? I lived on Dye Rd for 30 years...how is that area holding up?

I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my home My heart goes out to your daughter and her family
Anyone heard from Benny lately? The winds have picked up here off and on but when its starts blowing.... you know it. I can't imagine how hard they must feel to the east if its that bad over here on the coast.
The smoke is everywhere there is maybe 200 yards visibility here in encinitas and steadily decreasing. Prayers go to all those affected by the fires, this is the latest satellite of the area, everything off the coast is smoke. I dont know whats going to happen for another 2 days of this winds.
From: San Diego, CA, Point Loma-Home to the USN & USMC. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS.
Point Loma checking in - You are all in our prayers.
Hi, Everyone!
Here in Point Loma, as of now our skies are blue, but if we look north and east we can see the smoke-filled skies. Our hearts ache for you all in the path of these fires. Eerie reminder of the Cedar Fires, only with the Cedar Fires, even we could taste and smell the smoke. Mother Nature is cruel. Hopefully, you all have taken precautions and prepared as much as possible.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Take care. Stay safe.
Rita & Jerry

Got another update from Rich. He tried to get out and couldn't due to police and firefighters coming in to his neighborhood to set up a command post. He's going over to Vinny's now to make sure he doesn't need help watering down his house.
Just talked to Benny. He's out of Ramona and safe at work. Probably not going back to Ramona tonite. On the news, Ramona is getting hammered Lets give some prayers that his home makes it through the evening and night.
