Monday was a beautiful day so I took a drive to San Luis Obispo to enjoy the coast (Pictures posted in another thread), Tuesday on the other hand sucked ***!!. Went to lunch and upon my return to the car had an approx 12" crack from the drivers side of the windshield right across th HUD area. Needless to say i examined it closely and regardless it needs to be replaced.
any suggestions on where to go, dealers dont do it, but i want someone who does a good job. We typically use Lowest Price Autoglass but I am not sure about using them for my babied car.
Use OEM windshield and have a good glass tech to install. Ask the dealer for reference. All dealer do not have a glass tech so they contract out the job.
Call OCC and talk to Sean. There is a glass place next door to his shop. While at OCC I observed some high end cars having windows replaced. Sean should be able to give you some insight on them.

That's where I had my glass replaced. Don't let them sell you new rubber molding though (~ $400.00) unless you think it needs it.
All Star Glass did a good job on mine. They are all over the place. It was just under $1500 for replacement with OEM glass on my HUD windshield. Two guys did it in the shop in less than one hour. No big deal and the install is perfect, you would never know it was replaced. Good luck!

They did my C5 too. On-site, no extra charge.
Impressed me that when they got there the first time, they didn't like the windsheild that they were sent out with, so they came back 2 hours later with another one, and then did the install.
Just had mine replaced on Wednesday at All Star Glass in Riverside. They have locations around the state. Invoiced at $1316.60. HUD, OnStar and Navigation, it makes a difference. Check that glass is a match for OEM.
Also I have a $50 deductible which only costs a few more dollars per month than a $500. Check with your agent.
