Default Active handling question

Wow! That thread on active handling is long and very informative, but I have a different problem - Out of the blue my DIC will show "Active Handling Warming Up" and then "Warm Up Complete". I'm wondering if that is anything that needs to be checked. When this has happened, I am usually just driving along on a straight road. Nothing seems to be wrong so I have ignore this, but after reading the post about faulty sensors I am now wondering if this could be more serious. Any ideas and suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

My car has been doing it for a year now, no issues thus far. I think Bill Gates must have had a hand in the DIC design....

Most of the times I've seen it, it's been associated with having the front wheels turned when you start up and drive off. Say you pull into a parking space and the wheels are turned to the left - you go to back out and crank the wheel in the opposite direction before you actually start to move, and it throws a code...

Yeah, a C3 won't have this issue; but, there is a VERY long list of other issues.

Both my '05 and '07 have done the things described above. It had nothing to do with wheel position while parked. It happens MANY miles removed from being parked. Besides, in my garage, the wheels must be staight to even get the car in.

No it's not the SWPS, mine was replaced after my car went into a
150ft skid at about 75mph.

Think those sensors are accurate to one degree of steering...so this sounds like an electrical connection issue or short...

Been reading up on this stuff in case I get one of these "Computers" with 4 wheels...

To repeat, the "warming up" message is just fine, nothing to worry about. The one you need to watch out for is the "service active handling" message - that could mean a bad sensor, electrical connection, etc.

From the manual (happens to be the '06 manual):

"When you first start your vehicle during cold winter
weather and begin to drive away, the message ACTIVE
HANDLING WARMING UP may be displayed in the
DIC. This is normal. You can acknowledge this message
by pressing the RESET button. The Active Handling
System performance is affected until the message,
ACTIVE HANDLING READY, is displayed in the DIC.
The ACTIVE HANDLING CALIBRATING message may
be displayed in the DIC and the instrument panel
cluster light will be on after exceeding 18 mph (30 km/h)
for 10 seconds. The Active Handling System is off
until the ACTIVE HANDLING READY message
is displayed. This could take up to 15 minutes."

Thanks, Everyone!
No, I never get the "Service Active Handling", so no worries there.
Like Earl said, this happens many miles after leaving my garage.
One thing to note: this has never happened before the blower was installed. Don't know if that is relevant or not, but glad to hear it is probably just a "techie - thing" like Jason said.

Looking forward to seeing info on where/when the Varmits' group will meet for the ride up to the CF Pinic.

KUDOS ON A GREAT JOB, Jason.
