Default Jay's Jam

Jay and Laurie Turner on their first MVCC cruise.

This afternoon Bennie, Vivien and I went to Jay Turner's memorial. It was a musical celibration of Jay's life.

Some of you may already know that Jay was an accomplished guitar player. Many of Jay's friends played and sang at the Jam. In the short time that I knew Jay, I never had the pleasure to hear him play. I think that if Jay's musical talent can be judged by the talent, of his friends that played today, he was indeed a very very good musician.

I already knew that he was one of the truly good guys. I miss Jay and Laurie on our little outings.

Jay, the good guy, thought that I should get one of the limited edition Ron Fellows guitars to go with my car. No, I don't know how to play. I told him that I really did not have any place to display it. He generously volunteered display space at his house. Maybe I should have taken him up on this.

I want to thank Laurie for arranging the Memorial Jam and the invitation to attend. We truly heard some great music today.

Thank you, Laurie.

I wish I had had the opportunity to spend more time with him. He was a very fun loving person. And can his friends play the music and sing. It was a great tribute to a fellow Corvette owner, we will miss him in Varmit land

Hey Earl,

Wasn't this one of the Jacumba runs?I think I recall meeting him briefly.
He seemed like a real nice guy.

I am sorry to hear of this though I had no idea.Sure seems awfully young for this.

I hope his family is doing ,,,,,,,,,,,well,as well as can be expected.

Yes that was Jacumba. Jay actually passed a couple of months ago. Laurie took her time to set up a really entertaining but still moving memorial.

Earl -- thank you for posting your kind comments on Jay's Jam, and yes, you can judge Jay's musical talent by the caliber of musicians that joined in the "Jam". Jay played w/ most of them at one time or another. It was a great afternoon w/ some awesome music. I couldn't think of a better way to honor his memory -- unless it was w/ the addition of a corvette at the "Jam". Yes, to whoever said he was too young to be gone, "DAMN RIGHT", he was way too young. I miss him dearly, but you all should know that he really enjoyed being a part of this group, so thank you.

We certainly enjoyed having both of you. Really wish I could have had more time to enjoy his music.
