hate to be a bearer of bad news but if your car is running like 200 now the lower therm will not lower your cooling temps once its warmed up. it will take a little longer to get there is all . also you want your oil to be about 180 deg at the lowest or you wont burn off the condensation in it . i would look into an aftermarket water pump (edelbrock ) makes a good one and a radiator . what year is your car ? i would call around or ask other that have your year of car what they have done to lower the temps . if its a 60s or 70s big block the them is in the intake manifold right where the upper rad hose connects hope this helps

Rich, I would look for a high efficiency water pump and a aluminum (larger) radiator, also a real good fan clutch to match. At least you got a couple of straight answers here out of all the ribbing from your (our) FRIENDS!!! DAMN Varmits!!!

Will removing the thermostat from the new ZR1 help keep the
intercooler cooler? Maybe Jim could get us a group buy on them 160's
he's allways bragging about. Personally I don't get it, but Jims the man!

Since Jim has such strong opinions about them, a 160 might be the one mod I do do to my Z.
