Warning!!!!!!!!!!!

GM FACTORY Wheels may break for no reason.

REMOVE AT ONCE--SEE YOUR LOCAL DEALER FOR REPLACEMENT

Too many to list.
Let's just say the engineering spec on the C6 Z06 is 1800lbs. of torque. This spec was instituted for the C4 and has not changed.
The wheels keep getting lighter and the hp's and braking efficiency's went up in the c5.
Same old C4 spec; C5, more hp's, bigger brakes, better tires.Get the drift.

C6: Same old wheel spec. MORE HP'S, BIGGER BRAKES, and even BETTER TIRES.

Let's go one step further;

C6 Z06

OH $hit, Same wheel spec. More, more, more hp; Way bigger brakes, and king sized tires all mounted on weak inferior casted wheels.

There's more, The ZR1 has casted wheels also.
Rumor has it, that multiple wheels were broken while testing at Nurbinging------------------Tell me it's not true.

Fact is, GM dosen't make a wheel strong enough to do what they advertise. 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and over 1g, not to mention the brakes.

FELLOW CORVETTE DRIVERS,

IF YOU DRIVE THE CAR THE WAY IT IS ADVERTISED TO PERFORM, WITH THE POWER, G-FORCE AND BRAKING IT CAN PRODUCE, YOU BETTER HAVE FORGED WHEELS OR SOMETHING STRONGER THAN CAST.

I have personally witnessed a Z06 front wheel break away from the vehicle. Luckily there was no personal injury.
Mine broke 8 of the ten spokes on the street with my wife as a passenger. SCARY.
Just to let you know--------------NOOOOOOO WARNING.
Caught mine just before disaster struck.
Gm will not support you-------PERIOD.

Change out your factory GM WHEELS before CATASTROPHIC FAILURE HAPPENS TO YOU

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING.

Spread the word, I hope this message will get to all my fellow Corvette brothers.

CAST WHEELS DON'T BELONG ON A PERFORMANCE CAR-----PERIOD.

SPREAD THE WORD!

If that is true, that could be a nasty lawsuit! Of course, the "New GM" will probably say sorry, no responsibility for the "Old GM".

So when did you notice your spokes were broken?

Are these supposed failures happening with sticky tires on them, hit a pothole, or?

What did the dealer say?

All of my vehicles (except for my stock Tundra) have forged wheels. The Tundra wheels might be forged, I just don't know for sure.

Street tires on the street, wife in car @ the time, not a flaw in the wheel except 8 of 10 spokes broke all the way through.
Needless to say wife won't ride in car till satisfactory wheels are installed, per her request.

Are you ready for this; The new GT1 Corvette that you can purchase today from your dealer ONLY COMES WITH FORGED CHROME ALUMINUM WHEELS. This is standard equipment and is not an option.

This isn't even a Z06 or ZR1, just a Z51 package on a C6.

I think we better take note.

I'm just the messenger taking notes for my fellow Corvette Bros.

Is this a C6 thing or does it go back to the C5's too?

YES.
Ask Kailo @ OTR about breaking C5 Z06 factory wheels.
Remember, in '01 the C5 Z06 came with forged wheels as standard equipment.

So you are saying see your GM dealer? If so what will they do about it?

I would imagine the NTSB would be hot on this if it was the case. Have you filed an incident report with them?
