If you are having troubles with vehicle registration and you are an Auto Club member they offer registration services and know their stuff. They have helped me a few times with weird registration issues.

Most of the folks working at you local DMV know absolutely nothing about laws, vehicle code, etc. All the local workers can do is read what's in the computer screen in front of them. I suggest you call the DMV in Sacramento...they're the ones that put the information in those computers.
