I'm lookking for a good 2 layer suit for roadracing. I've seen many websites that offer them, but would prefer to try it on before buying. Anyone know of a retail location in So. Cal.? Thanks.
If you happen to travel up to SF area, there was a huge warehouse in Hayward that allowed you to try on anything and buy it on the spot at excellent prices some years ago.

Simpson Race Products is located in Harbor City (near LA).
I think Simpson has a small retail store for their products at their factory in Harbor City.
Werks II is not like it was before. Very limited stock on hand, and they attempt to sell you all the old stock that has been laying around for many years.
Check out Subesports in Huntington Beach, and you can actually visit the Sparco showroom in Irvine. If you want really highend custom work, go and visit Stand 21 in Costa Mesa.
Also, Winecountry Motorsports has a lot of suits on sale right now but they aren't local.

the guys at Sube in HB and sparco in Irvine are both great. Sube mostly has Puma but they do have some other suits also. If you buy from Sparco in Irvine they will tailor it for free... Which is a fantastic service.

Thanks. I appreciate your taking the time with this info. I will be in that neighborhood this weekend.
When I look at the Sparco website, the closest store to Irvine appears to be the one in Laguna Hills on Del Lago St. Is this the one you're referring to? The website says "karting only". Should I disregard that?

I picked up a Puma suit from Sube in HB. Great shop, knowledgeable salesperson. Was great trying on a few different suits in multiple different sizes and certain brands/models fit different body types. never made it to Sparco, but did try on a few Sparco suits at Sube as well.

I tried on the Pumas at Sube and they were really comfortable. I also tried on the Sparcos there, but they don't cary the high end Sparcos. When I tried on a high end Sparco I couldn't believe how breathable they are. Both brands are great.... I thought the Puma was a bit more comfortable, but the Sparco seems to be a lighter, more breathable fabric. I ended up with a Sparco but I would have been happy with either.

Just curious, which Sparco did you end up going with?
The new Sparco suits with the HOCOTEX fabric are just crazy light. It is single layered with the protection of a triple layered suit. They supposedly breath 2X to 3X's better than a traditional suit. They have models ranging from $800 to $2400. They aren't on the Sparco website yet but you can check out Winecountry Motorsports website for the info and pictures.
