I don't think anyone is trying to convert you, certainly not me...BUT I will tell you an 1/8 mile is 660 feet, not 1000...You begin at a minimum of 35 MPH but you could you be going 50 MPH if you discussed it with the guy you were racing before hand as long as you were even when they hit the green light and then you go another 1000 feet...I data logged (1) of my runs and raced to 125.3 MPH at the end...If you ever race on the street, how many times do you race from a dead stop...I happen to be freeway flyer usually racing from 70 on up and it tells me and my opponent who makes more power and not who has the better launch...Test and tunes cost $50 at Fontana and usually get 4/5 runs, tops...Roll racing costs $50 also and you could 15 or more runs...What kind of stickers do you want to compare?, I'm in.

What were you driving at the time for...I data logged (1) of my runs and raced to 125.3 MPH at the end? I am a freeway guy myself and prefer 50 to whatever it ends up to...I have my old C5 back and it runs ok, 520 RWHP. I'm curious on how bad a Hellcat would beat me.

Thanks
Christian

I wanted to check out out. But I read the rule about the 120 max speed. Most corvette can do 120mph in the 1/4 from a dig. This is 1000 feet from a roll I figured many people were going too fast. Also the first 60ft is the most fun part of drag racing from a dig. After that you are just hanging on for the ride. Kinda of boring if you ask me.

I just got rid of my 2016 SS and I no my c5 would spank it. I'm assuming your SS is far from stock if it is beating the Hellcat times.

I spin to much at 35 in 1st and would prefer to start in second at 50 but 50 to 120 comes real fast. Do they ever go higher speeds say 150+ so i can get to 4th gear?

Thanks

My SS is a long, long way from stock...I raced 3 cars that day...My son drove my ZL1 and rolled in to it in 2nd and 3rd and got into 4th...The same for another son that drove my C5 ZO6...In my SS I slowly rolled into it 3rd and never got it 4th... When I partially rolled into the throttle in 2nd I also got into 4th for a while...Again, you can start at about 50 you just have to work it out with the guy you're racing.

x2 from a dig is racing imo requires skill...and a speed limit thats a joke. So they go from a roll hit the gas hope the nannies do the rest...zzzzz

Did they enforce the 120 mph limit the last time? They might say that for insurance reasons and not enforce it.

The way I see it, what’s to complain when you have an opportunity to race legally, wether it’s a roll or dig race. We don’t have many opportunities here in the LA area for events like this. I’d prefer a drag race like most but this is a cool opportunity to LEGALLY run your car.

Maybe your car can't spin the tires @ 35 but all of mine do...Going to the drags 3 to 4 times a year does not satisfy my need for speed...I DON'T USE NANNIES, do you? I understand your non street race stance, I just don't observe it.

I data logged one run and went 125.3, so 120 is not the limit...They tell you in the drivers meeting that if you race past the flags more than twice you will be asked to leave...If you don't know who's car is faster at 1/4 mile then you need to go to a 1/2 mile event...None around here in Socal but wish they did...I would bet 90% of the cars were faster than 120 at the end.
