Default Tech 2

Is there anyone near Beverly Hills (or near LAX during the work week) that has a Tech 2 I could use for 10 minutes? Twice now at different events at Willow Springs I've had my airbag light pop on. I can turn the car off and it resets until I go back out on the track. On the street.....no issues, the light has never come on.

I've checked all the usual wiring culprits. Since it only happens on track, I'm thinking I have a sensor going south and the braking/acceleration/turning at track speeds is causing confusion.

Anyway, I'm hoping someone can pull the codes for me so I can decide if I want to repair it or just accept it as a track day nuisance.

Jim,

Have you tried reaching under the drivers seat and reseating the connector there? I had this problem on my 08 Z and would solve it for a time by reaching under the seat and making sure that the harness is free from being caught on anything and than firmly reseating it. Many times the problem is that running the seat back and forth will stretch that harness and cause a slightly bad connection. There is a TSB and fix for this with a new harness extension but I found I could avoid the dealer by the above reseating.

Yep, I gave it a try. Actually pulled the connector apart under each seat, cleaned the pins with electronics cleaner, and then put them back together.

On the street I've tried everything to make the light come on, assuming it was a connector. I've bounced up and down in the seat, ran it forward and back while driving, used the "cinch" feature to make sure it's not an issue with the belt, rocked in the seat, tilted the seat, etc. All to no avail....ie the light stayed off. I was at Willow Springs this weekend and the first session out, 2 laps complete....airbag light Run the session and turn off the car. Go out for session 2, light is off and after 2-3 laps....airbag light. Did that throughout the day. Drive 90 miles home....no light.
