I have a bone stock 2007 with the Z51 option. thinking about doing some bolt on mods just to give me a lil bump, nothing too extreme.
I am far from being a mechanic and or tech guy LOL.
I want to keep it reliable, low maintance and able to pass smog.
Was thinking a supercharger in the future, but not sure what engine work needs to be done to accommodate it and if California smogable?
looking for suggestions (pros and cons) and input on supercharger prep work.
Thanks in advance

Reason: added details
I would go with an after market exhaust before going full on supercharger. There are tons of C6 videos on YouTube for exhaust sounds. Give them a watch and pick one you like. If you go with an axle back or cat back system, they will not do anything to affect your ability to pass smog, except put a smile on the service tech's face. If you buy a system, you can have it installed for right around $200. That is what I am paying to get a Borla ATAK cat back system installed on my C6.

Thanks I was thinking Borla or Corsa, want that low beefy rumble, You Tube a good idea
I guess one should ask, how fast does your wallet want to go?
like to keep things in 500 to 1000 increments for now.
yeah i know thats not much, but just bought the car and added wheels gotta stsy under the significant others radar for now

You could put a FAST intake somewhere in the mod chain too. They do have a CARB number if I remember correctly when I had a C6.
Realize this is a $lippery $lope. I found the end when the car was a real problem with SMOG; this after breaking driveline parts from too much torque. I suggest working with a reputable shop who's honest about how any mods affect reliability; oft inversely related to bigger power.
When I made my C4 real fast, i found it frustrating, as there are so few places to really enjoy it. The Block cruises are some relief from that ailment.
I have Corsa Sports and you're more than welcome to stop by and listen to them. I live just up the block from you.
PM me when you want to stop by, I'm home all the time.

I had the sport on my last c6, but thinking I might want a lil louder, but don't want to upset the neighbors at the sametime. I am hoping to make the next block of orange, there was a white vette with us last trip to palm springs I believe he had the borla I am hoping to hear
A good seat, a suede steering wheel or cover, and a mgw shifter might not make you faster in a straight line (the seat in particular would lower times on a roadcourse/autocross) but would make the cockpit more engaging

$500x2=$1000x3=$3000x4=$12,000... Yep, that increments quite easily!
Spot on, been there done that. I would look at the big picture when planning modifications, why you might ask if you nickel and dime now it will cost you more money in the end. You add headers and an air intake then tune it, that’s one tune cost. Then you add a intake manifold and possible cam then another tuning cost, then you want more power you add heads or some other power adder another tune cost. You can keep your tune cost down by getting a street tune done like me but look at the big picture on modifications.
Thanks sparky

Not sure how young you are (read, listen to loud music) or if you have a significant other, but you might want to consider the enormous amount of droan from all exhausts louder than the Corsa Sport. I was forced to replace my BB PRT (billed as no droan, ya right!!) that had very loud droan that needed to be replaced. Just My 2 cents.

yeah drone is one of my concerns, I had the corsa sport on previous car same year and model and liked it, but considering a lil louder. will probably end going back to the sport.
+ 1 for Ryne Cunningham, had my car there for their stage 3 cam kit and tune and i love it!! I think i remember seeing he offered a CA compliant setup also
The money I spent I could have put a smog legal supercharger in my vette. From what I hear it doesn't change your daily driving at all except when you put your foot into it! You might want to just sock the money in a hiding place and buy the supercharger! Have fun no matter what you choose. Cheers!
