Las Vegas Hotel Recommendations

Las Vegas Hotel Recommendations
I am planning a trip to Las Vegas in February for a trade show and would like to know which hotels are Corvette friendly. I want to stay away from valet parking, high crime areas and parking areas that the undercarriage can't clear. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have never had a problem in Vegas with my Vette at any hotel. A vette attracts very little attention in a place like Vegas. I usually stay at the Rio off the strip, away from the traffic and crowds.

At Luxor, I parked on the top level(3rd level) of the back parking structure and used a grey car cover. No problemo there either.
Orbitz and priceline are very good for hotel rates also!

Actually, valet is the way to go. At just about every hotel on the strip there are always a few cars parked (usually high end and exotics) in front right near the valet stand. Don't worry about your Corvette, if you ask and tip accordingly the valets will park your car up front and never take it back into the garage. That way it is always watched. My wife and I have stayed at most of the hotels on the strip...Paris, Ballys, The Venetian and any of the Wynn hotels (Bellagio, Mirage, Treasure Island) are great.

We went to see Simon & Garfunkel in Vegas and stayed at the Marriott by the convention center. No valet, just a parking garage around the back of the hotel. (It's more of a "business" oriented hotel - no casino, just a bar & restaurant.)

Ceaser's Palace has very nice parking facilities, but can be pretty pricy.
Last trip I stayed at the LV Hilton - plenty of Vette-friendly parking there, and it is 2 blocks off the strip, so less attention.
I agree with the others - too many other things to look at in Vegas - Your Vette will be fine!
Have fun!

I was there this weekend. Went to the Venetian, saw no less than 3 Ferrari's and 2 SL500's at the front of the Valet area. Your Vette will fit right in there. They have the most luxurious "standard" rooms too.

Thanks everyone who responded. We need to stay at one of the event hotels and most are sold out already. Looks like the Stratosphere is still available. Any opinions on this hotel?
Thanks,
Howard

The Riviera is OK...it's just not one of the better strip hotels. You probably won't be spending too much time in the room anyway, so just stay there as a place to sleep. Head south on the strip in your down time from the event...the best casinos and restaurants are down that way. If you get a few extra minutes go to the Imperial Palace and see the Auto Collection, you won't be sorry.

The Riviera is a pit. My company put me up there last April. The room are old and worn out. I'm amazed it's still in business. Trust me - It will be the next one to be demolished.
While the Strat is a little rough around the edges, at least it's relitively new. I would take it over the Riv any day. The only bummer is you can't walk to ANYWHERE from the Strat - you must drive or cab it.

Check out the GoldCoast. It's relatively cheap, clean, & good parking. It's off the strip but they run a shuttle to the strip and it's right next to the Rio and the Palms.

Thanks, the Gold Coast looks fine, but it is not in walking distance to the Las Vegas Convention Center nor do they offer a shuttle service to the convention center. It looks like the Stratosphere may be our only choice if we want to stay at an event hotel. All the others are already booked.
Has anybody stayed at the La Quinta Inn Convention Center? They are less than 1/2 mile from the convention center, but not an event motel.

I forgot to mention that the LV Hilton is RIGHT NEXT to the convention center - literally you can walk to it without going outside.
Don't know the La Quinta - Sorry

@Fred, Re: Las Vegas Hotel Recommendations (SDVette)
Fred, the LV Hilton is full, but it looks like we can still get a studio at the Hilton Grand Vacation. This might be our best bet.
BTW, how do you like the Kumho MX tire? I will be due for new tires soon and I would like to try something other than the Goodyears.

In fact, I put them on in the spring to take a road trip up to the bay area. My GY runflats were so harsh and so loud that I was considering taking the beater car instead.. Then I had a moment of clarity - I bought this car to drive it and it's become so unpleasant that I'm thinking up excuses NOT to drive it!!
My GY RF tires slowly got louder as they wore. I was unaware of how loud they were until I took a buddy for a ride.. His first comment was "What the hell is wrong with the tires?"
This causes noise fatigue on a long trip. With the Kumho's it's night and day -the C5 becomes a wonderful long-trip car with real rubber tires on it! Obviously they are not runflat tires, so I did purchase a plug kit and carry a compressor - although I think the odds of using it are very very low.
Howard, I don't know if you remember but we met on Steve's Yosemite trip in 2002. We ran into you crusing the Mammoth loop afterwards too! We missed out on this year's trip but hope to re-join next year.

Re: @Fred, Re: Las Vegas Hotel Recommendations (SDVette)
I've stayed in most and frankly they could care less that it's a Corvette too much going on there. In fact earlier this year for the Nascar races everything was sold out and I found this, what must have been a religious motel some woman yelled Oh God most of the night and car was there in the morning. Also, it was parked next to an old Washing machine that was in the parking lot.

Fred, we remember both you and Barb. Sorry you could not make this last Yosemite cruise. Steve always puts on the best forum events.
Regarding the tires, I have to stick with the run flats. I have to many muscular skeletal problems to deal with fixing a flat in the middle of nowhere. I believe Kumho also makes run flats. Hopefully they are better than the Goodyears.
Here are some pics from our last time up in the Sierras. We can't wait to go back.
