Removing Center Caps for Thunderhill
What is the best way to remove the center caps without scratching the chrome?

Re: Removing Center Caps for Thunderhill (vetterdstr)
I ended up using a nylon screw. The threads gripped the inside pretty well and they came off easier than I thought.

Re: Removing Center Caps for Thunderhill (vetterdstr)
I asked the question about 3 days ago but went by Discount Tire / America's Tire Store that does the Corvette work locally for Chevy. The guy said, 'we use one of these' and handed me about a 4" long pry in rubberized plastic with a 45 degree bent end. When I went to give it back he said, keep it, so I thanked him and it did work well. Glad you also found a solution, they did come off easier than expected since I didn't bother at the first two track days I did and nobody said anything.

Its good to be able to see the lug nuts and bolts on a track car... it lets you know early on if one of them come loose or not. It is good to thoughly check out your car in between sessions just to make sure things like that are in good shape. (we all learn this stuff as we go) ;)

Too late for T-hill but once you take your lug nut caps off (if you still have them) you can take the center cap off by hand (again assuming stock C5 coupe wheels). :seeya
