SD Folks...meet up at the usual Mission Valley spot at noon on sunday. Southeast corner of Mission Valley mall by the Robinsons May. If that lot is too full when we get there we can hook up around the restaurant. From there we will caravan up to the 76 Park and Ride

Hate to say guys, but the other cruise looks way more fun. I think I will go on that one.

See you guys soon.

How about another Test & Tune at CarlsBad?

What is this about?

I have not seen reference to any other activity this weekend.
In any event I'm on Allen & Jerry's run for sure.

OK, here are the details for those leaving from the LA area. The departure point is the south parking lot at Ontario Mills Mall. You exit I-10 at Milliken, go north to Ontario Mills Pkwy, and turn right. Then, make a right into the parking lot just past the In-n-Out Burger. We should start arriving at 9:30, and I hope we can depart at 10:00. We will get back on I-10 heading east and then south on I-15 which is the next exit. The ride begins in earnest in Wildomar. We head through some wine and farm country on varying kinds of roads, some of them quite challenging. I was on some of the roads last weekend, and the rest of them this morning (beats work). No surprises, I hope.

Then we have some time for a quick lunch break in Temecula, and then we will meet up with the Sandy Eggans for their part of the ride, ending up at the Julian Pie Co. in Santa Ysabel.

FRS radios on Ch. 10, Code 0. If you don't have one, please spend part of Saturday shopping for one. You'll love the difference they make on a ride like this

COLA members, you have mail.

Allan,

I'd like to join the cruise in Temecula. When and where is lunch going to be? I'll try to hook up along the route down I 15 if you can give me an ETA on when you anticipate passing the 90.

By popular demand, to accomodate any folks from Yukaipa, Orange County or even San Diego folks who want to join the morning part of the ride, we can slow down or even stop briefly in Wildomar, at the Ranch Market about .6 miles west of I-15 on Clinton Keith Road, just past Palomar Road, on the right side, around 10:35. Make sure your FRS is on ch 10 code 0 since we will be singing as we come up on you. Unless we run into traffic on the way down, or just start late due to terminal schmoozing, we will sure be gone from there by 10:45 or so, so get there a bit early and wait for us. If you want my cell phone #, just send an email with your name so I know who you are. Later.

See above post from the Yellow Fellow about the San Diego meeting spot and time.

Family Radio Service. It's the 21st century answer to CB radio. Operates FM at higher frequencies, and has up to a 2 mile range with a 3" antenna. We use it on all our rides to keep in touch for such vital info as immediate road conditions and hazards, "here comes the turn" advisories, and general pleasantries when time permits. I like Motorolas (I have model 250), but there are other brands. You want 14 channel, 38 code models.

Hmmmm. The stopping point I picked is actually a KFC - Denney's - McDonalds area. That glass of wine may look more like Dr Pepper. However, it is on the fringe of Old Town Temecula, and if you can find another place down the road when we get there, all the better. Rosa's will be closed this Sunday [img]http]//www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/frown.gif[/img].

This is starting to get complicated.
Just to make sure no one gets left behind why don't Allen and Jerry post the official meeting times and places along the route, both here and on the COLA list.

Charles, the LA part is not complicated. We have the Ontario Mills Mall starting location, details above, and the pick-up point at Wildomar, details above (in each case, just a couple of postings up, sent by me). The SD folks are retaining a 12]15 departure, PM-only option from their shopping center. Any SD folks wanting to come up north and do the AM leg also can meet us at Ontario Mills Mall or Wildomar, whichever they desire. See Jerry's latest post below.

Never mind...My plans have gone back to the original. Sorry for any confusion. San Diego guys that want to join up with the LA guys in the morning can. I will be heading out from Mission Valley at Robinsons May at about 12:15pm. Heading north on the 15 to the 76 Park and Ride.
