Ok you Texans:
Before I can transfer my drivers license I need the safety/emissions test. Where in Denton,North Fort Worth, Alliance area can I take my car without a jockey doing me in?

Think as long as you aren't throwing any codes, you'll be fine about anywhere.
Honestly, you can go just about anywhere. If you are not throwing any codes and all the safety features of your car work (lights, blinkers, horn, brakes, etc.), you'll be fine. My '04 just passed with flying colors and I wasn't sure if it would - I installed headers and high-flow cats and such and haven't had it tuned yet, but my codes were clear and all the rest of the stuff worked fine. My only advice is to go somewhere other than a service station or a lube shop - the guys that get in and drive your car have a tendency to not be the cleanest folks... Over here in Allen there is a large car wash with an inspection station behind it, and I went there. Clean hands on my clean car
I use a small place here in Denton. They know me when I drive up so they take good car of my car. They drive it just to test the brakes plug it into the computer, then they test the gas cap and off you go. Place in on the service road just South of Ft. Worth Drive/US377 here in Denton.
Thats my concern that some one with either less than sanitary attire or thinks a brake test should involve a 1/4 mile blast down frontage road. No codes so not worried about passing.
tonyh2000 I'm up there all the time. Give me the name of the place as I think there are a few repair shops.

I just had mine done about a week ago in Carrollton. The guy that "tested" the breaks did not even leave the parking lot. (At either place...) He got all the way through the test to only tell me that he did not have any stickers and would have to go somewhere else.
If you are going South on I35 take the Ft. Worth Drive exit. Stay on service road and go across Ft. Worth drive there is a gas station on the corner and the EZ LUBE is right next to the gas station.

Did they do you right? Does not look like much, but they have always done me right. About time for an oil change so I'll be paying them a visit.
They did alright. I just didn't understand the need for the Inspector to take the car around the block? Anyway I was outside and didn't hear the familar roar of a Z06 going thru the gears.
I told them you sent me. Just a guy that goes by tonyh2000.
Ralph thought he knew who you are.
Was by there today for an oil change and they told me you were there. They drove mine also supposed to do a brake check. That is the only time they have ever driven mine. Have been going there for about 4 years so they know me when I pull up. They have always taken good care of the car, but then again I never leave it unattended. Keys are always with me except for the inspection.
