If you go on the "oklahoma vettes" thread and go back and read through it shows a picture of the road course and explains it pretty well. You need a helmet (which i still need to get). It takes about 50-60 seconds to complete a lap. You just do 1 lap at a time but they say you don't have to wait too long in between laps. It is near mwc at NE23rd and Air depot. I think this saturday is reserved only for vet's. It starts at 9am. I don't think there is a cost. The laps are timed electronically. It sounds like fun to me. I think the weather looks okay. I think Darrell said he was going too.

Come on down guys. I went to one last year and they are a blast. If you don't have a helmit they will have a couple of ones that they can loan out. 50 sec is a quick lap.
I stopped trying to keep up with those Oklahoma Vettes guys. Are the details in thread #12 or #13? I started looking at helmets online last night. Is there anybody in town that carries a large selection?
Darrell, are you going down to the road course in okc this saturday? Sounds like fun. Anyone else? Steve, Chad, Jason, Justin? I love a road course!
Yeh I am. If I can get brakes put on my car before Saturday.

I use my old motorcycle helmet. lol I'd just go get a cheap one from a bike shop.
I have used it for 2 or 3 years now. Never been told it wasnt good. I probably should get a new one as its probably outdated. I think it has to have a certain SNELL rating. Most of the motorcycle helmets are a higher rating anyways. For these playdays and drag test and tunes they just require a helmet period. Only when you do the real high speed stuff and the actual braket racing and low et's do they check your helmet.
So what's the plan for Saturday morning? Are we caravaning down? Looks like snow Fri and a cold day Saturday. Is that going to impact anybody's decision to go?
I wanna do something this weekend. i would love to do a road course and I like the strip too. I am game for either. Work might get in the way of a trip to okc. Won't know until late tomorrow or Friday morning. How is the weather gonna be? What is everybody else gonna do?
hopin for the strip if the snow stays away. hoping to get my dr's in before the weekend. putting on a vararam, ported tb and intake tomorrow just in case.

Jaygood finally got them to give us a sticky at the top of the events and regional page. If you guys have any event that you want posted, just send a PM to Jaygood and he will put it in the top post.

NOTICE
The sheriffs track is located at NE 36th and Air Depot Blvd. The gates open at 9:00 AM but the laps will not begin until the track and equipment is set up. There is a $20.00 fee to run. The set up, timing equipment, course workers, tear down, and clean up is not free. There is a run order that is strictly followed that keeps everything running smoothly and safely . Your vette must have good brakes, suspension and be in good operating condition. This is the sheriffs drivers training track, therefore, no alcohol. Motorcycle helmets are OK if they have the proper safety rating. There is usually someone with loaners if needed. Please post your name and type/model of vette on the Oklahoma Vettes thread if you are planning to attend the event so arrangements can be made to accommodate everyone.

Tulsa Raceway is open this Sunday. Scott said they moved it from Saturday because of the weather. Looks like everyone can do both events. I need to work on the trees at least one day so it looks like the drags for me on Sunday.
Chad
We need to get a day planned for the headers. lets get everyone together and see if we can do a set in one hour. I think we can do it as long as we lock up the beer until we are done.
Rob, do you have any time this weekend to swap those covers? I would love to do sheriff's track but am still unsure about my work schedule saturday morning. I am golfing Sunday morning but I might try and make TRP.

Yeah, I can do it on Saturday for sure. Sunday...depends what time. Probably between 2 and 4 on Sunday.
