Default Regional Events Coordinators needed

We've been discussing how Corvetteforum can help with local events recently. One of the best aspects of the forum is the get-togethers like the Cruise-ins. Local events can be a lot of fun also.

We've decided that the best way that Corvetteforum can help out with local events is to have "official" coordinators for different areas. Our goal isn't to become another NCCC but rather to have someone in each area that can be a central organizer/contact person for events. We're not going to try to control the events in any area, we just figure we can help them happen.

The Regional Events Coordinators will:

1. Organize local events
2. Publicize local events on CF - we can do front page notices and such
3. Be the keeper of a Corvetteforum banner
4. Make sure that regional events are added to the events calendars.
5. Contact Corvetteforum to get free t-shirts and other give-aways for local events.
6. Organize the regional aspects for national events like the Drag Race Weekend.
7. Anything else you see fit to create and/or encourage local gatherings of Corvetteforum members.

If you are interested, and have a history of setting up successful events in your area, please throw your name in the hat in this thread.

I've done quite a few number of things around Houston, as well as with my local club, of which I'm the CorvetteForum ambassador to. In addition, I have the ability to merge the 2 "organizations" together for many other events. I'm currently working a contract in Dallas, but am always back in town for weekend events. I also think you should utilize a poll in each region's section and allow the region to vote for members they feel have or can do events successful. So if this thread is for taking nominations, than I guess list me as a nominee.
