Default ported throttle bodies

ive been kicking around the idea of adding a ported throttle body to my 08 c6... if I'm not mistaken stock on it is a 90mm.. im keeping my eye out on the fast ported and bigger throttle bodies but maybe something a little cheaper.. from what I have read, a ported throttle body is alot cheaper and for the money is a good and easy power addition.. anyone know of a place that does the work or any advice on the subject.. thanks

JJ Formatto at Fasterproms(forum vendor) did mine, along with the intake manifold. Was like $325 for the pair. He took a lot of material off !!

I had Mark Shaner in Arlington do mine, he did a great job.

I dont know how much "power" I gained, but I can tell you I gained TONS of throttle response and it makes the car a lot more fun to drive.

Go to Norris Motorsports. He exchanges the Vmax ported throttle bodies and they are one hell of an upgrade. Throttle response is much quicker.

I'd save your $$$ for headers when your warranty expires.

yes headers are in my plans.. and yes unfort i am going to wait for the warranty to expire..it was my understanding that headers and all would void the warranty.. but its a 08 so ive got several years left on it.. so for now a ported throttle body will have to do.. as far as the manifold.. ive been looking at the fast intakes and manifolds.. but they are a bit more than i can afford at the time.. and porting verses going with a bigger throttle body seems to be alot cheaper..

Dont waste your time on a fast until you up your cam, heads, etc.

I would first go for cam (with springs / rods / etc) & headers maybe a UD crank pulley. The LS3 heads are pretty strong for stock. $$$ per HP it'd probably be the cheapest way.

Be careful about the ported TBs & MAFs. It seems like they cause the ECU to go lean to gain the claimed power rather than flow that much more. You can just get a tune done and pick up the same gain.
