Windshield Rock Chip
Damn it, got a rock chip in the windshield on the drive home yesterday, wasnt even going fast in traffic. I dont know if it can even be repaired because there appears to be no damage to the laminate layer on the outside, just cracked the actual glass.
Anybody in Austin recommend a good glass place for changing the windshield? I have used Safelite before for other window changes and have never been completely happy with their work.

i have in the past used glass dynamics.. 512-836-4147.. i act have a chip i got on sunday and was going to call him so i had to look for the number.. they have done awesome work in the past.. come to u.. very nice guy

I havent' been back to this thread in a while. I went to get it looked at and the guy wouldn't attempt to repair it because the outer laminate layer did not break. He said he would have to drill a small hole through it and that could potentially cause more damage ala completely destroy the windshield. Its way over on the passenger side by the A pillar so I dont really notice it. The guy said to just watch it, but he didnt think it would probably crack any more. Ill probably replace the windshield before inspection time in December.

The windshield on my Z is pitted and I would like to replace it but I shudder at the thought of someone cutting it out with a pneumatic saw. Then there is the leak factor if not done properly. I would do LOTS of research before you choose someone. Then let me know who it is
