I'm suprised you didn't go. It was clear it wasn't just for vettes. But it's alright, we forgive you . Since you can't make the July event, then you can go to the August event.
I would have gone to the last event, but I assumed it was mainly for Vettes and I didn't want to step on anyone's toes, so I didn't look into it any further. I'll be up for future events, but I'll be out of town at Disney, on July 11th, which also happens to be my day of birth!
Personally, I prefer shorter cruises, that can be very "spirited" if the safety is there and hang out at a parking lot type area or sit down at an outdoor spot for a soda. But I may be game for a long small town cruise too.
I just prefer to stay more local because I sometimes drive hard and break stuff... and towing is cheaper when closer to home,

I am pretty sure this has nothing to do with the heat coming through the floor on that VIPER........on anything but a very short run....
I took a Sgt from the Sheriff dept for a short ride today..... he had no ideal of what a modded vette would do.....he has lots of respect now.

Ha! We have some pictures I'll have to dig up and post. Had a Yellow C5 back then. I had no idea where we were, I was just trying to keep up half the time!

Actually on a longer cruise, I can run the A/C and be fine but yea, they can get hot when constantly getting on it....

Once again we had an awesome turnout for the June event at the Salt Lick. We had about 30 cars which included many corvettes including two ZR1s, Ferrari's and a Lamborghini, not to mention a police escort. It would be hard to top it, but I bet we can. What I'm hearing from everyone is they are really enjoying being apart of a "non-club". I am too. There is no BS to deal with, just the fun stuff.
I'm looking for ideas for the July event which will be held on the 11th. One place I'm going to check out is the Barton Creek Country Club. I'll be attending the Ferrari club's annual happy hour there on Monday the 15th. I'll do some reconnaissance while I'm there.
Let's make this a majority vote scenario. Do most people want to stay local or drive to another town to have lunch?
I look forward to hearing from everyone on their ideas.
One idea would be to just have a happy hour event at the Barton Creek country club. Since we have already had a breakfast and a lunch meet. This would be different. It would be drinks and d'oeuvres.

Please add me to your distribution list...I wouldn't mind an occasional drive to ATX for a lambo show!!

I am looking into doing a buffet at Barton Creek Country Club. They will cone off an area for us to park all our cars together.
I went to the Ferrari club's event there last week for a happy hour. We had drinks and hors d'oeuvres. I was a good event and very nice.

Somehow a redneck wearing a wife beater shirt, cut off blue jeans, flip flops driving a loud red or orange corvette and country club just don't seem to go together!!!!

The Barton Creek Country Club will not be able to accommodate us on a weekend because they will not have the room in their parking lot for our cars. Therefore, Cosmo and I are going to check out a new burger joint called Mighty Fine Burgers on Friday for lunch. If any of yall care to join us, come on out. I'll post what time we will be there tonight sometime. They are located at 5601 Brodie Lane (that's at Brodie and 290 where Johnny Carino's is at)
