Well, at least I've already been looking and saw the writing on the wall. I just found out I'm soon to be laid off. I'll know the details tomorrow, but I imagine I'll be cut loose tomorrow. I just got laid off from my last job in January of last year! I got the curse or something. If you need a strong Visual Basic developer with a head for VB.NET, give me a shout. http://home.attbi.com/~RubyRed/Resume.html (needs some touchup)
I'm sorry to hear that. It's starting to look like the old oil business crash hitting all of us in the tech industry now. I can't tell you how many of my tech friends have been laid off also.
At least I'm seeing the market appear to start picking up in the hiring, or at least looking market.
Dude, sorry about the news. I fully feel your pain. I've been laid off or "transitioned", 5 of my last 7 jobs. This contract in Dallas is killing me, but what can I do?? For now, I stay here, and keep one ear to the floor. Good luck to you, you have a good skill.
I'm sorry to hear about your lay off, but your resume does seem interesting. I used to work at Transcore (formerly Intermec, Amtech Systems Division) a couple of years ago and my g/f still works there.
I work for divine Managed Services (formerly Data Return) and we do hardcore VB.NET and ASP.NET work (we actually host http://www.ibuyspy.com). We were a complete Microsoft shop, but since the "merger" we're getting into Solaris as well. I can't say that our business unit is the best place to work, but it's a paycheck and you get to play w/ .NET. I'll forward your resume to our director; I think we've been looking to replace 2 of our guys that left recently.
