I still have friends that say they are safe street racing, I have said and done everything I can to convince them otherwise. One of them is 58 years old, you would think it was just kids.

The driver of that car should have known better. He did pay the ultimate price.

You can be 58 years old physically but 18 years old mentally

The problem is, he probably wasn't really "Street Racing" like all the ricers go out and do on the weekends, with 3 lanes wide stopping all the traffic behind them. He was probably out for a nice evening cruise and a car rolled up on him that looked like it would have been fun to give it a little run. WE HAVE ALL DONE IT... It's partially the reason we buy cars like this, to share a thrill from time to time and bring back a story or two to the meets and the boards. Sadly, this man's luck wasn't on his side, but I seriousely DOUBT he was any kind of a "street racer". He probably just had a little spirt of fun and it ended up badly.

This article states the driver of the vette hit the left curb where the road transitions from 3 to 2 lanes and then ran off the road surface. With three lanes, he had plenty of room - unless he was cut-off by the driver of the Mustang. From the looks of the vette he must have been hauling a... Agreed, we should take it to the track, but I have been equally stupid and thank God it was not me.

May his soul be at peace and my prayers toward the driver's family and friends.

Supposedly they found glass from the Mustang there so he had contact at one point. Kinda a horrible decision to make for the Mustang, stay, help, and probably get charged with a felony or take your chances getting away.
