Do you know the name of his business? I'd check that name through the AZ BBB at the very least. Chino Valley is a hot bed of automotive enthusiasts in northern AZ. If I hear anything one way or the other about him, I'll update my reply.

I think he is involved in dirt track racing if I'm not mistaken. You might GOOGLE his name, use keywords "troy mikkelson chino valley az" or similar.
If anyone would know him, it's Rob McCabe who builds one off custom headers. You could check with him.
