"Unfortunately in this state people don’t really adhere to the two plate rule like they should. They put a lot of their school logos or their favorite football or baseball team and it is against the law. It is a crime"
We need more support for the yearly bill that comes up to drop us to a one plate state.
Just got pulled over for no front plate the other day. The HP in my small town has nothing better to do. Then a couple days later I saw this on the local news. They interviewed a lawyer who said since there wasn't a penalty there couldn't be a crime and as the law reads now a fine wouldn't hold up in court. I hate running a front plate, but I have never been lucky for long without one. I think I will go without one and see what happens. I just hope I hear about it when the fix their typo.
I got a warning ticket from DPS on I30 just before the 1st of the year. Guess they were practicing for the non-law. Do these warning tickets come up on the computer if you are stopped in the future?
i am sure they do keep some sort of record for warning tickets. but still if you get a ticket it will be thrown out in court. it will just be a hassle going to court that's all. this information i recieved from the news media. so i could be wrong.
My question is why can they pull you over and ticket you if it's not against the law? Do they still pull you over and ticket you for alcohol under the old Prohibition Law?
Do cops not know the law they are ticketing you on?

It is against the law. There's just no penalty for it.
I know but there's no fine amount for it. Still raises the question though. They knew the law last year and when it was to take effect. Since there is no fine amount then there should be no reason to ticket you since it will be thrown out. But if one person gets the ticket and bends over then it's not right and they (judge) should be held accountable. It's the reason why we have laws. You can't just enforce what you think should be legal and illegal. It's their own fault for not checking the bill and approving it.
I'm rather shocked at how the media has done nothing in bringing this up. I've not seen one mention of this (new law or lack there of) in the news. I'm not running a front plate because of this. I beg a cop to ticket me.
