Addison TX Locals
Earth MotorCars has a 01 Z06 I'm interested in getting. I'm currently deployed and stationed in South Carolina. So going to be looking at getting the car shipped.
Looking for a local who wouldn't mind dropping by to test drive / give the car a look over.
I'd be willing to throw some money your way for gas/food if need be.
I'll shoot their internet sales rep a email as they do not have a 1-800 number I can call.
Also, I'm 7 hours ahead of Eastern Time, so I will not have a chance to check my email from the time they open, until I'm assuming after you'd be available to drive the car. If you'd be able to do it, and reference myself (James Taugner), they should get back to me.
The big things I'm worried about is
Condition of the interior (Any rips/tears, excessively soiled areas, smoke smell, any aftermarket additions, A/C and Heat working strong)
Condition of the exterior (Excessive road dings, I understand it's 12 years old so nothing too crazy. Paint condition, wheel curbing, tire wear, glass (scratches mainly))
Condition of the engine/transmission (Does it idle smoothly, are all the fluids topped off, are there any leaks after the test drive, any engine knock/valvetrain noise, any aftermarket modifications, does the transmission go into gear smoothly, any clutch chatter)
During the test drive, try to see if they will let you give it the beans, to see how smooth it pulls, if there's any hesitation etc.
Also, after you veiw it, shoot me your PayPal so you can have lunch on me.
**Edit** I got ahold of the GM who responded to my Email. POC is Arthur Przytulski // General Manager, or Jerry Macias // Finance Director. I've been talking to both.

The good =
BONE stock car. Stock intake, exhaust, etc...
Low mileage. I believe it had 36K when we looked at it.
Speedway White. Rarest c5z color they offered
All panels fit perfectly. All gaps looked as they should
The bad =
Front bumper had a long gash. It didn't puncture but it was a solid 3-4 inches long. Could not tell from 10 foot away, but was noticeable up close.
Clear coat cracking = THere was a small area where it appeared either the paint or clear coat was crackign on the roof behind the driver's side window. Wasn't terrible, but could see up close.
Tint job = The tint that was on there was terrible. I believe in the pictures I have seen lately, they removed it. My brother told them they would have to remove it for him to purchase it.
Wheels/tires = While it does have the factory c5z style/size wheels, they had a pretty good amount of curb rash and road wear on them, for only 36K miles. The other major problem, was the tires were a hodge-podge setup. I believe only 2 tires matched...basically the car had 3 different brand/models of tires. The other problem was a couple of the tires were directional and on backwards. I also want to say that the width/sidewall dimensions were not stock, but don't quote me on that.
Passenger side Valve cover leak = We also noticed that the passenger side valve cover had an oil leak that had slightly coated the engine with oil. They stated they would fix that.
EBCM = We couldn't take the car for a test drive as they had it in a bay at Earth Motorcars to have this replaced. The dash had the "service traction control", "service abs", "service active handling" which is standard for when the EBCM is faulty. So this should be a brand new part on the car, which is good as it is about a $1000.00 job (parts/labor)
All in all the car was real nice. Trust me I love my EBM c5z and I have thought more than once about trading it in on the Speedway white one they have up there. I think with a little love and of course cash, you could really make the car a great ride. From what we were told, the car was the managers or maybe owner's car and it was a garage queen. i kinda doubt it was a full time garage car as the weather-stripping around the windows were a little bit worn from the sun/elements.
Also I think they have 25,xxx as the sticker. I believe my brother was quoted over the phone of a 24,xxx price. Now that's not much, but every little penny helps. Wish we had test drove it to have that insight for you. My brother didn't not buy the car because of condition. He was actually more looking for a black or silver c5z and has now decided to keep his goat.
Hope this helps

Thanks for doing this for me, sounds like a decent car for sure.
FedEx shoot me your PayPal so I can get you lunch.
I'm not sure if it's worth the price honestly, I understand the Speedway White was a pretty low produced color. But it's 11 years old now.
With Vinyl Wrap being so cheap, I'm wondering if I should go with a 2002+ for the upgrades that were added and if I feel like I want it white, I can go ahead and do a Wrap etc.
