CEL is flashing

06 Z06 with 56k miles on it. I have only had it for a little over 1k miles. What things should I look for. Manual says a misfire condition has been detected and I can feel it has a rough idle. I come from a background of imports so any help would be much appreciated!!! If anyone in the DFW area have a code reader to diagnose that would be awesome

Code scan for free at autozone.

I've only seen cel flash with misfire/random misfire.

Locate misfiring cylinder and check plug/wire. If random misfire, gonna be a lil harder to track

Flashing is a misfire, and you don't need a code reader -- you can check the codes in the DIC.

From what I read that feature was discontinued in the C6 so I have to get a code reader.

On the C6 you can't.

so i pulled all the plug and looks like bad plugs in cylinder 7 & 8. Picking up the new plugs 2mrrw. crossing fingers

through a process of elimination I think I have found the problem. Seems to be a bad coil pack. I replaced the plugs and wires and the car runs better at idle prior to a mis-fire. With the mis-fire being inconsistant i know it could not be valves or springs, so i moved to the coil pack. Code was P0307 so cylinder 7 misfire. I switched the coil packs on cylinder 7 and cylinder 3. cleared the old code started it up and no MIL. drove it around the block and it threw a code to my delight P0303 = Misfire on cylinder 3 I FOUND MY PROBLEM. TAKE THAT STEALERSHIP!!!!
