I had them on my 99 Z28 for over 10 years and never had a problem. Got hassled more on the window tint and tinted tail lights. As long as it is tuned and not throwing any codes it usually passes in most places. But it all comes back to that they are illegal so you are taking a chance. I don't have them on this car and it's nice to not have to worry whether it will pass. On a side note: I was watching Street Outlaws the other day and all the Texas cars have current inspections. I'm trying to sneak through my headers and their "race car" has a sticker. I know there are ways to get the sticker, just funny seeing it on fully built cars.

That's kinda what I thought, I think what I should do is talk to one of the local ls performance shops and see what they do for their cars. I like doing all my own work on the Fbody but might have to get a header/tune package so they will help me with emissions testing. Anyone have any recommendations for LS1 tuners/installers?
He removed ALL swirls, scratches, and holograms along with lots of dead paint film. The paint really looks new. You can see his before and after close up shots on his facebook page at Active Auto Detailing.
Yes, he's definitely a good guy. Kind of rare in the automotive services industry these days it seems.
Tell him Vince sent you (with the black Z06 and the Blue Volkswagen Passat).

I cannot tell you how much you guys were so on the money (as you know)....
Mingo is THE MAN. I've been modding cars for a long time, been to many shops of all kinds from performance to detailing to body work and everything in between. I have met very few guys that take their time and do such detailed work as Mingo did on my C7.
Full front clip paint protection and full tint. His work was absolutely flawless, and I am pretty ****/OCD when it comes to my cars.
Glad I found a guy I will be using from here on out for all my tint/vinyl/paint protection needs.
He's both. Has a shop in the Galleria area and is mobile.
Is this the same Brent that is well known from the BMW crowd? (Mid-aged white guy started doing detail work as a side job)
If this is the same Brent that I am thinking of, he got his start in the BMW crowd in Houston (of which I was a member) he was a good friend of the 3 series crowd and did all of our detail work and such. The guy does AMAZING detail work. He has done 3 of my cars in past and I plan on using him for my new C7 here shortly.

have any of you guys been to clarity auto detailing? they do some amazing work, guys also do powder coating. once I get back to the states, from the middle east the vette is going over there to get fully detailed and cquartz protected. they have fb and ig.
I been off the forums for a while now, Ive been over here in Dubai working, and just been busy to get on the forums. hopefully ill be back by mid august. I've been gone since may 1st.
I live on the northwest side of Houston. Just purchased a 2011 C6Z that i'm picking up on Friday.
I heard they still do cars and coffee in a few locations. I'll ask my buddy who goes to a lot of them.
Also, what performance shop do you guys trust? I had some fast Mustangs years ago, but i've been out of the scene here in Houston for a long time.
Another C7 ( I know your a C6) has had good results in the last months with PowerFab, and I have heard nothing but good things about them for years and years (last 5-8 years).
Powerfab is where I plan to take my C7 when it comes bolt-on and tune time.
I'm new to vettes, so I am still do some research on stuff as well.
BTW, let me know what your buddy says about C&C. I heard a rumor its been canceled lately due to all the wrecks and stuff, but not sure if that is true. If you find any kind of good meets, let me know.
Anyone here use Mak Haik Chevy on Katy Frwy for basic maintenance on a C7?
Mine is going to need its 500 mile service next week and a few minor warranty items addressed. They are right across the freeway from my office so would be convenient. But not if they are no reliable for Corvette work. I am new to the chevy side of things here in Houston.

I would look at Classic Chevy in sugarland or lone star on 290. Both are top national Vette dealers (top 30). I would suggest using one of them as they see many vettes fir work/maintenance and all.
"The one at Vintage park on 249and Louetta has been on hold since earlier in the year because some idiotsdecided to use the parking lot as their own personal burnout zone. I haven’tseen or heard if they’ve decided to move somewhere else or not. Their Facebookpage hadn’t been updated since March. There’s the Nifty Fifties that meetsevery Saturday right by my house at Kuykendahl sand Louetta but it’s mostlyolder cars nothing like Cars and Coffee was."

Brent just finished adding a polish and CQUARTZ on my C7. Amazing shine, almost a glow. I am looking forward to not having to work so hard on removing the bugs. He can be found on Facebook at Active Auto Detailing. His number is (832) 567-7615 Houston.
