Need help! Column lock.
My 04 z06 is my dd and I have had the column lock issue for the past week. I bought the clb and went to install to see that there was a corvettes of Houston one installed?!?! And the Chevy dealer said there is no recall for it? They said a recall has never been done to my car either. If anyone could please help, I've been car less for a week!

OK, Be the first to bite although I think this is a prank thread. NO WAY you could have this problem in a 04 with the CLB from CofH properly installed. Unless it is a faulty part. Replace iit with the "new" one.

A prank thread? I have no reason to b/s I want my car back so I can drive it. I bought a clb and while installing had found the clb from corvettes of Houston was already installed? I don't know why it would being giving me this issue. I tried my new clb from southern car parts and did not help at all. Car is sitting at a chevy dealer and I'm clueless. The dealer is telling me the k harness was never installed.

I did not intend to diss you. Just never heard of the CLB not working. Sorry for adding to your frustration.

I never had a column lock issue when I had my C5. I remember reading about turning the wheel hard while starting the car. You might try posting in C5 gen and or tech. Good luck.

call VZ Autoworks vic over there knows exactly what to do to get you going again. i remember some of these doing this with the clb installed but dont remember the cause or the fix. sorry.
