It took us some time to answer eveyone due to elevator issues with the Lexington. The Lexington elevator is under cosmetic and structural repairs and they will not give us an answer to secure the dates of the event until Feb 2015. We are sorry for the delay but these are circumstances beyond our control.

Sorry it has taken us this long to get back with everyone. We just got off the phone with the Lexington Management and Board of Directors. We were told that the elevator has not been fully completed but should be in the next 2 weeks. So far things are looking good and the repairs are coming along nicely. However, the Vettes and Jets event will be pushed back to October to allow more time for us and everyone to prepare. The benefit to this is it should be a little cooler down here and we will also be out of the hurricane season too. We are shooting for Oct 09th weekend which is Columbus Day weekend. The last and most important thing is this will be the last Vettes and Jets event. The ship is said to be getting to old and in need of to many repairs and they can not afford to continue to place unneeded wear and tear on the ship.
You read it correctly... this will be the last Vettes and Jets event. We are going to do everything we can to make it the best one ever and go out with a bang.

Thanks for the update! When will registration start because I'm ready to get in on this deal. Plus October weather will be so much nicer for sure...

If everything goes as planned, we will start registration on 13 April 2015. The date for the event is not for certain but we are looking for that weekend or the one before that on 03 Oct 2015.

What is the possibility of parking by the A4. I was in an A4 unit on the Yorktown and would love to get some pics of car next to the plane.

aj1988 its going to depend on when you load up. If you wait and load at the end you have a good possibility of parking near some of the planes on deck. Every year I've gone the planes are moved around to different locations on deck. I always try and load up last but that's just me..

I just brought my first 'vette home yesterday... and I am an absolute airplane nut. I am an A&P and student pilot, and my husband is a military pilot. This is just so, so SO awesome. How can I be a part of this?!
