So I just registered for the Wanna GoFast 1/2 mile event here in Dallas and I will be attending on November the 12th (Sunday).

Unfortunately I do not have the required Snell SA-2010 or newer helmet, as I would only need it for this event.
Before I purchase one I was going to see if anyone had a size Large they would be willing to let me borrow for that day, November 12th, with preferable pick up on Friday the 10th, but can discuss details as we get closer to the date.

Obviously being early September I have a while to search, but why not start early.

PM if you have a helmet or any leads on one for cheap purchase at last necessity.

I needed to upgrade mine this spring for an HPDE event. I found one on craigslist that was brand new that a guy never used. Mines a M or I would let you barrow. Keep checking ebay and CL and you might find a great deal.

Why not just buy one? you will spend $250 on a event but be cheap and not buy a helmet?

Is it just me or is using someone else's helmet akin to using their underwear? I wouldn't want anyone else's sweaty head inside my helmet, even with a balaclava Probably just me LOL

I bought one at CycleGear for last years event, well worth it. I would suggest you talk to someone there and let them know you are looking for a cheap snell rated helmet, they gave me like 50% off the sticker price. Can't remember exactly the cost but I think it around $100. Always good to have a helmet so you can do events anytime you want.
