Default VaraRam installed!!

Wholly Molly that thing is not easy to install. It took us about 4 hours to install that thing with plenty of cuts and scratches. I don't think I would do that again.

I am kinda disappointed in the VaraRam on the construction because some of the holes didn't line up and the Filter Cover and Filter do not seal completely. I will be calling VaraRam on Monday to let then know how the install went and to see what they suggest about the filter cover and filter not sealing completely.

Been told you need to get your utility knife out and do some aftermarket modification (trimming). Call Paul at COH. They've done a few installs.

Hey Joel,

Congrats on getting it installed. It is a thorough job for sure. Which holes don't line-up right...the ones on the top of the radiator cover? I'm suprised the filter/air box isn't sealing good. You might need to re-shim the scoops. How did you set that up?

BTW, you can call VR's install help line 24 hrs/day for help.

Thanks

The main holes that didn't line up is where the metal piece holds the two air intake tubes. We had to drill two holes to make it hold.

When you put the lid on it and clamp it with the T Clamps is does not sit flush and you can see a little of the foam gasket on both sides. I guess it still needs allot of adjustment.

That was a tuff install, next time I will pay someone to install it. I haven't see much of an increase yet, maybe the computer still needs to relearn. Hopefully it is not due to air leaks.

Hey just wanted to let you know that I installed the vararam on my car and I noticed a difference right away. I was reading your post and noticed that you had to drill some holes and their is a possibality that you have a air leak, that could be all the problem. If you talk to Patrick at vararam I know that he will talk or even meet you to put your car on the computer. The only thing that I'm not happy with is the way the box seats on the air filter, I believe that they are or have made some changes to the box. I know it is a new product, but I think it kicks butt on my car, again call patrick I believe that he can fix your problem...

Ok we readjusted the vararam and made sure all the connections were tight and did the relearn. Now it runs better and i can see a big difference. I am still not happy with the air filter but atleast we got it to seal better.
