Anyone here having Houston Roadrunner slowdowns? I find that prime time really sucks (cannot find page, very slow video downloads) but off prime really rocks. (or is it just me) Any comments?
Of course that's Houston in the title, not Houstor. DOH!
Paul, I had a major slowdown a few weeks ago. About 45 minutes on the phone with them had it working better, but still a little slow. Then they were supposed to come out and check the lines to my house. Two screwed up appointments later, I'm not sure if they did anything, but my service is a lot better than a few weeks ago. I still get some slowdowns, but not real bad.
I have had all kinds of problems. I switch to cable from DSL a while back because it was supposed to be more reliable. Hah!
The first month was good but since then nothing but problems. They have already been out 2 times to adjust the signal and are scheduled for Tuesday. Mine is completely hit or miss at this point. Last time I tried to post it died in mid sentence and was down for 2 days!
They are scheduled to be here on Tuesday to try again. If there was an even an equivalent option I would try something else.
:mad
Yeah, my RR was out yesterday, but it's back now (obviously). Day-to-day service for me is pretty good. I only lose service once in a blue moon. I've had friends in the area, including my next-door-neighbor, with constant DSL problems.

Paul, that's typical for cable to be slow during peak because the more people on your hub that are using it the slower it is....mine at it's slowest I've ever seen is still faster than the DSL I had and the cable is $10 less per month.....
