Well you asked for you, and now you have it :thumbs: . The XTREME Corvette Club of Texas is proud to announce the Corvette Showdown Series :boxing . We plan on having a four race series throughout 2004. These events will have both Heads Up Racing and Bracket Racing. This event is good for any type of racer from the amateur to the die-hard enthusiast. These evens will be open to all year Corvettes from mild to wild, street legal only (PLEASE NO RACE CARS). All cars must be street legal (and Corvettes), meaning it must have current state inspection and insurance. Must have a full interior with both front seats. *** NEW *** You may run with only one front seat if you are running a 5 pt. rollbar or greater. We will have three bracket classes and three heads-up classes. Awards will be given for first and second place in all six classes..

What about some of us who "think" they'll run a low 11 and don't have a roll bar. Are we screwed after one run and get kicked off the track?

They are IHRA now and the limit is 11.49 . MC you don't have nothing to worry about" your 11.74 best at hallsville still stands. :lol: :thumbs: He may not push it since this is a early morning race between vettes" but not sure. :cheers: :seeya

 

Right now the plan is to have one in March, May, July and Oct. The Oct race will be the "Fastest Street Vette in Texas Shootout."

As of now all of the race will be at Hallsville.

As for the roll bar, we have never had a problem with Hallsville, but they are IHRA now. If you have a question on the roll bar issue please call the track. The track is the ONLY one that will inforce the rules. The XCCT will only be inforcing the class rules (i.e. tires and power adders).

...but they are IHRA...means to me they now have rules. Last time they had rules I ran a 11.74 and got kicked out. So I hope since this sounds like a private event, they'll look more at mph than et on the rollbar issue.

If I, a stranger to Hallsville mgmt, called them, more than likely they'll have to say what the rules are which we all know is sub 11.99 rollbar only. But if someone on the club is on friendly terms with mgmt, they might get a different answer.

You know, the rules, then what REALLY happens.....so, who's gonna make the call and report back?

They are not going to tell you that its ok to run without saftey equipment. :lol: Lawyers would love this.....

Now if you happen to run a little faster than you thought it would, they might miss the fact you don't have the right stuff . ;) Don't drive like a fool and respect the track and I'm sure your fine. :yesnod:

I state again that (IHRA) rules are if you run quicker than 11.49 et you are required to have 5 point roll bars. If your car does not run this quick you have nothing to worry about. Now come on down and lets have fun. :cheers: :steering: :hurray: :party:

 

During the time trials see how your car runs and what the track says. If you run faster than 11.49 and they warn you, you can still have a chance in the bracket class by dialing in 11.49. If you run faster than the heads up winners with your time trials slip ( probably faster than 11.49), you still have Forum bragging rights but no trophy. :thumbs:

Ok Ok.....I like what Red Rocket said. I'll take bragging rights over a trophy anyday. BTW did I tell you not only was the water cold, but it was deep too.

Had a great time at Hallsville during the last Extreme event ....The drive out there last time was a blast :steering: Blew out some carbon build up after we meet up with those Ford lightning trucks. :thumbs:
