Vert Owners, please check your headliners for tears
others have many miles with no problems, just trying to narrow it down.Here are some pics of the problem areas, and a thread on this. If you have a problem, please take some pics and email them to the Bowling Green link. Maybe we can encourage them to correct the problem for all future Vert owners, which may be us again too, as often as I see people here changing cars
I've contacted GM about this. They've asked to hear from others with the problem so they can prioritize the fix.
======== email back from GM ==================
I would encourage anyone who has this concern to call the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center (800-222-1020, select option 4 and then option 3) mentioned in your owner's manual. Get the case documented and keep the Customer Assistance case number they assign as part of your records.
Sincerely,
Lynn Herron

=======My notes from that call=================
When you call that number (above) and give your name/addr/VIN/problem description you will be issued a Service Request #. Save it. I spoke with Vanessa this morning.
She asked that we then mail a photo of any headliner wear/hole to:
Chevrolet
PO Box 33170
Detroit, MI 48232-5170
Put the Service Request # on the envelope and in your letter.
They will take your letter (include VIN) & your photos and keep in a file.
After analyzing the situation they will contact you back with next steps.
[supposedly...I'm mailing in my info today. Will report back]
======================================== ===========
So far, I'm encouraged by GMs responsiveness on this issue.
I do plan to be relentless about this. I need a vert top that will not destroy itself during normal use. Pls check your vert and report any found headliner problems to GM. Thanks.
