testing
Yeah, that was some weekend, with tons of driving time and great organization. Hooked on Driving is definitely first class.
I learned that I have a lot to learn. I arrived with too much confidence for my novice level, since I'd run for a weekend on the older version of RFR in my 67 Sting Ray convertible a couple of years. It turns out that NONE of that experience transferred to my 07 coupe on the new track. My 67 was lucky to hit 85 mph on the front straight (compared to about 120 in my 07) and was so slow through the turns that I really didn't have to react too quickly to navigate them. The instant power of my 07 was harder to get used to than I thought it would be. The second half of Sunday was the most fun for me, since I finally got comfortable with the car and track to a certain extent. I got instruction from several HOD folks and they were all wonderful. I was a passenger in Terri's red C5 when she went "dancing" around the track with Denise and Art and …… wow! ….. what a masterful performance, all done while she was chattily telling me what she was doing! Instructor Don did a similar stint with me in his 993 TT Porsche. I'm working on staying as calm as they are behind the wheel, but don't expect to reach their skill level……. but I'll keep trying.
I've included a diagram of the track. The second day's change is shown by the dashed addition between turns 9 and 10.
I just signed up for the May 17 HOD event at Thunderhill and hope to see you and the others there.
After rereading your posting, I'll go out now and check my brakes!

I sent you a PM. See you next week at the track!!!!!
